Hello fellow pilots.
After a long time of not sharing any new pictures with you I had the feeling it might be time to take some pictures again. We had really good weather on Tuesday and I got my first little sunburn of the year as I was working outside
Now I took the opportunity to set the date and time to Tuesday morning at around 9 o'clock local time and make a nice little flight from Niederrhein (EDLV) heading for the Southern part of Germany.
Here is a map of the route:
Aircraft of first choice would be the MilViz F-15E 'Strike Eagle'.
Here we are parked in front of our HAS ready for today's flight:
The cockpit is still cold and dark, but that will change in a few seconds
Engine number 2 is already running - now it is time to crank up number 1:
We are almost ready to taxi to runway 27.
Barn door check
And finally we are taxiing out:
OK, let the show begin. We are lining up with runway 27.
After a short takeoff roll as usual for an F-15E we got airborne rather quickly and climbing out still accelerating using full afterburner.
Right hand turn climbing out, scratching already the Netherlands.
After we had flown around Niederrhein Airport we set course to about 140 degrees and followed the border for a really short time and so you can see part of the beautiful NL2000 scenery as well. The river that you can see is the Maas.
After we had passed our first waypoint Lima (LMA NDB) we are now en-route to Wipper (WYP VOR) passing Düsseldorf Airport (EDDL).
Next airport that we passed - although in much greater distance to the East -was Cologne/Bonn (EDDK).
After passing WYP we were heading to TAU VOR. From there directly to Ried (RID VOR) passing west of Frankfurt Airport (EDDF).
En-route to Kempten VOR (KPT) we were passing Allgäu Airport Memmingen (EDJA), a former German Air Force Base.
And now we are finally closing in to one of the hot spots of this flight: Neuschwanstein Castle.
We made several passes and took some very nice pictures
Now we are approaching CHIEM intersection which seems to have some relation to Chiemsee.
Now passing low near Frauenchiemsee:
Followed by Herrenchiemsee:
One last look back over the shoulder...
En-route to Erfurt (ERF VOR) we crossed the Central Hospital of Bad Berka:
Approaching Erfurt Airport (EDDE) for a touch and go.
And another touch and go at Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport (EDLP) in some 'bad weather':
And finally approaching Niederrhein for a nice touch and go.
Well, my intention was it to head over to Volkel AB in the Nethrelands and shoot some touch and goes there, but almost instantly after taking this last picture FSX shut down due to another OOM
But I hope you enjoyed this report nonetheless.
