Here we are again with another report of a very nice MP-Session. Today we would complete our transition to Europe and from next weekend on we will start to fly across Europe starting in the United Kingdom.
But first we had to make the flight to Stornoway.
Here is a map of the route:
Again only Stefaan and I were joining today. Here we are still on the apron getting ready for departure.
I let Stefaan go at first.
It took some time for me to get airborne as well as I somehow forgot to set flaps-10
But I got airborne a few moments later on and here I am turning left.
Coming almost to a downwind for runway 29, from which we both took off.
Bye, bye Keflavik.
Two minutes prior to top of climb.
And here we are at FL410 about 17 minutes after takeoff:
35 minutes later it was time to overtake Stefaan, who claimed flying at M 0.83. Well, that wasn't fast enough.
Well, the approach was a little bit tricky for me. My scenery had the localizers available, but the FMC database was missing the approaches for runway 36 at Stornoway. Stefaan had the approaches, but not the localizer. So we both had to make the best out of the situation.
But with the help of the FIX-pages of the FMC I was able to somehow create the approach quite good.
Stefaan flying nearly parallel to me now.
Stefaan landed as first and I was No. 2. I somehow made it to short final...
After I had landed and vacated the runway I asked Stefaan to join behind me as it looked really strange to see him sitting in the big hangar to my left.
And another picture of Stornoway airport.
So next weekend we will go flying again with some smaller aircraft, but you will need a fast one.
Have a nice week all.
