Yesterday I mad another very nice flight with the Level-D B767-300ER from TCAA. It was flight 851 from Seattle to Honolulu. Scheduled departure should be 17:00Z and here as of 16:38 catering is still in progress, but should be finished in a few moments.
On this flight we will have a passenger load of 210 plus 5600 kg of cargo bound for Hawaii.
At 17:02Z we were pushed back from gate C20 and soon we were ready to taxi to runway 34R. Here you can see the push-back truck leaving after he did his job:
During taxi to RWY 34R with a Dash 8 from horizon just behind us.
We got airborne at 17:15Z and followed HAROB3 departure with transition to HQM and from there out over the Pacific direct to SEDAR intersection where we joined airway A331 to ZOULU followed by a direct to APACK intersection joining MAGGI3 arrival to Choko Head (CKH VOR) and ALANA and a 14 DME radial to the approach for runway 08L at Honolulu.
But first a picture of the departure from Seattle:
Already inbound to ALANA intersection. In the background you can see HNL airport.
Passing Barbers Point.
About 2 minutes prior touch down fully established on the ILS for runway 08L.
On short final I had a quick look over the ramp at Hickam AFB and it looks crowded
After landing we had to taxi away from our gate at first to get out of the way for oncoming traffic
OK, we are now at gate 33 and the passengers will be leaving the aircraft real soon. I hope they will be enjoying their stay here.
Honolulu airport seems to be as busy as ever:
OK, after a flying time of 5:37 and a block to block time of 5:55 we are almost in paradise. My crew and me are scheduled for the return fight sometime next week, probably it will be on Wednesday... Who knows?
