I had a lazy morning at Bettles (PABT) before setting off just after midday for Chena Marina (AK28) just outside of Fairbanks. The weather had started to clear (5 miles vis, scattered clouds) by the time I left...
Airborne from Bettles
Settling into the cruise at 6000 feet
Crossing the mighty Yukon river
This is how the approach to AK28 should look
But the low fog meant that it was impossible for me to see..
Fortunately the river Chena was in sight so I set up the approach just south of where the marina should be
Down on the Chena
I found a small beach to taxi out onto to wait out the fog and reposition to the Marina
To be continued.....
