Again it was time for another MP Session, this time we would fly from Newark (KEWR) to Goose Bay (CYYR).
First you can have a look at the route:
Next followed by the animated satellite image covering our flight route. Unfortunately these satellite pictures only get updated every 6 hours, so these are only two images in overlay. Click to enlarge and to see the animation. Source: http://aviationweather.gov
OK, we are almost ready to go, after I forgot to load my aircraft properly, so I had to reload it again resulting in a short delay. First the winds were in favor for RWY 04L/R, but had changed in meantime to almost opposite direction resulting in runways 22L/R in use.
At 1713Z I finally started to push back:
A few minutes later we all started to taxi to the active runways. Stefaan is following behind me in his B763 and Dave and Vic are also following us, both flying the MD-11 in Swiss and TCA liveries respectively.
Departing runway 22R following the Newark8 departure to Sparta (SAX) VOR.
About 14 minutes after departure I leveled off at FL390 inbound to BIGGO intersection.
At 1814Z I was passing Bangor (BGR).
The remainder of the flight was really uneventful as we had a very good spacing to each other and we came in to Goose Bay in a row. Close to Top of Descend:
Going in directly for an ILS RWY 08 approach without any transition.
Speed brakes out to kill some speed:
On the localizer. Runway ahead on the upper center of the picture.
Slightly to the right as an other AFCAD2 file was disturbing - fixed by now as I write this, but therefore I had to land manually.
Stefaan some 7-8 NM behind me.
Arriving to a very nicely done scenery of Goose Bay CFB
Clear of the runway already whilst Stefaan is on short final followed by Vic.
Parked nearly in front of the tower and the Vulcan is on display.
Stefaan has arrived and Vic is taxiing in.
Dave has arrived.
The end of another nice MP Session. We will have a break for at least two weeks now until we start to cross the Atlantic to Keflavik.
Have a good time all...
