Under African Skies - Gatwicksteve - 05-19-2013 I've finally managed to catch up with my assigned flights, this month saw me head to Africa to fly TL9400 and 9401 around Lake Victoria. Starting point was Entebbe (HUEN) in Uganda.. Given the Russian hardware on the apron there was only one choice for me for these flights, the new TAL An-12 "Cub" First stop Bukoba (HTBU) in Tanzania, a short dirt strip but well within the capability of the An-12 Then on to Mwanza (HTMW), also in Tanzania Later in the evening, I returned via Kisumu (HKKI) in Kenya to Entebbe. A gentle night flight and good VMC all the way, though some thunderstorms were visible away to the North of Lake Victoria.. That's it for now! Steve RE: Under African Skies - CBreuer - 05-19-2013 Hi Steve. Thank you for posting such fantastic pictures. I think you had some really great fun doing these flights. This video once brought me into the mood of some African flying as well some time ago... Enjoy! RE: Under African Skies - TCA2050 - 05-20-2013 Very nice picrtures Steve, Africa is a very beautifull continent to explore. And thanks for sharing this video Christian! captures the atmosphere very well. @Steve, in tha last but one pictures, those are the stars right ? I never seen them so pronounced in my fsx, are you using something specific for it ? And if so, are the constellations fully correct to the real world ? As an avid amateur astronomer this captures me ;-) |
