TH New Zealand Tour - Gatwicksteve - 01-04-2013 Happy New Year to all at Tradewind! I've started another themed trip, a little shorter this time, and using almost exclusively the Tradewind Helicopters Bell 412EP. The premise is that TH have been hired by a certain well-known film director (Did I mention that "The Hobbit" has just been released? ![]() ![]() The passengers were flown in to a small strip in Marlborough Sound from Wellington in a chartered B222... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ...where they were met by our own 412 for the onward trip to the first location, the Farewell Spit lighthouse, which has a small airstrip right next to it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After an overnight stop (with BBQ so the crew could get acquainted ;) ) we set off early for a run through the Tasman Mountains and down the coast to Cape Foulwind (delightfully named!). ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Part 2 to follow soon! Steve ![]() RE: TH New Zealand Tour - CBreuer - 01-04-2013 Happy New Year to you also, Steve! And another nice report with very nice pictures and a breathtaking scenery. Wonderful. The Bell 222 is a nice looking helicopter, but the only thing that prevents me from getting one for me (flight simming wise) is the panel design. I simply don't like it. ![]() I would opt for an EC135 or EC155, which are my favorite choppers, but unfortunately there seems no good EC155 available for FSX/FS9. Looking forward to the continuing of the journey. RE: TH New Zealand Tour - TCA2050 - 01-06-2013 Happy New Year Steve! Great scenery, Love it ! |
