KAWO to KORS in the C208 Grand Caravan - TCA2050 - 11-30-2010 Short flight in the C208 Grand Caravan from Arlington Muni KAWO, to Orcas Island KORS. Flight Simulator FSX Aircraft by Carenado Scenery Pacific Northwest and Orcas Island by FTX Map of the flight: We've just fired up the aircraft at the ramp and are about to be cleared for a departure to the north. Taking the wind conditions into account we were given RW16 for the take off... and in no time we were airborne climbing out of Arlington Navaid enroute was the Skagit Bay View NDB, so we turned to intercept a direct to it. Passing enroute to the left but just out of view, Stanwood The Skagit Bay Refuge with the Skagit river estuary.... and looking up the river we see the town of Seedro Woolley. Near here is Israels Farm where I took a flight to in the Cub coming from Darrington (older post on this forum) Meanwhile we've passed Skagit RGNL as you can see in the back window and now we've turned to a rough heading of 285 in between the islands. Ahead, Orcas island and we're turning towards the southwest so that we can enter the 'gorge' upwards from Cypress Island You can see the airstrip at Cypress Island Turning north you can see Rosario (W49), a seaplane airport. KORS is further ahead. And finally arriving at KORS, winds being 180 13KT gusting to 22 I entered the downwind for RW16. Base was flown over Sucia Island and I overshot the centerline a bit. Correcting for RW16 Wonder what those spots are in the water ahead Ah right, Orca's... Landing and rollout.. Taxied to the small ramp and shut down the aircraft in a light rain.
