TWL0410-10 URKK-DNMM - CBreuer - 04-05-2010 Yet another Tradewind Cargo Charter flight this time from Krasnoyarsk to Lagos. This time we had a load of car spare parts for delivery to Nigeria. It was later during the morning as we arrived at the airport and found our aircraft parked at the ramp still being in the loading process. After arrival at the aircraft and doing all the required preflight checks we went off the blocks at 06:36 UTC and started our long taxi roll to the active runway (23L). Krasnoyarsk airport for FS9 still is in beat phase and hopefully far from complete as there are entirely no buildings at the airport currently. Also the ILS for RWY's 05R/23L are missing as well. Also the default taxi signs are standing around here and there, but nevertheless the city seems to be there as you will see later... Shortly before our taxi out an Aeroflot Tu-154 had arrived. Line up onto RWY 23L. Here we go and rotate: the weather wasn't as good as we arrived at the airport as it had started to rain, but nevertheless Krasnoyarsk city scenery looks good so far. Somewhere over the Black Sea... Some time later and after crossing Turkey we are now overhead Crete. Next we flew across Libya and headed for Chad. Then we were near the intersection TUMMO where we some time ago had to avoid some very high terrain. This time everything was as it should be: flat Nearly two and a half hours later we were approaching Lagos and it seemed to be a busy airport - maybe depending on the daytime. There is an Associated B727-200 also on approach to Lagos. It was cleared for an approach to RWY 18L, whilst we requested RWY 18R for us. Turning inbound for RWY 18R. Seconds away from touch down. There is our ramp, whilst in the background you can see the main terminal. A lot of approaches right at the moment and part of it is also 'Associated 2', the B722 along with a Lufthansa A340-600. The Lufthansa during roll out and taxi in. After a flying time of 7:15, using 153700 lbs of fuel and delivering 145000 lbs of spare parts, it was a really successful flight with a block to block time of 7:29. Now it time to get a little bit sleep until the next flight is scheduled to depart in about 7.5 hours I hope you all had a really good Eater weekend - I had! See you later. |
